We have a gorgeous lithgow produced Enfield rifle chambered in .303 British. This example has been turned into a target or competition rifle. It has had Lane brand peep sight installed. This is popular for many clubs and matches shooters to have rifles set up such as this. The rifles wood stock shows beautifully with only very minor imperfections from storage and handling. There are cartouches on the right side of the butt stock present. The receiver and Metal finish Parts show almost all of their parkerized coloring. Right side of the receiver is marked Lithgow smle III* 1942 with a broad Arrow MA above it. There is a very discreet small import marks also noted on the receiver. The Lane Target peep sight is installed on the rifle however it has not appear to have been drilled or sporterized. Lane sights utilizes the existing mounting points for the receiver and Trigger guard area. The rear sight has been removed as to be expected however the hardware and spring are still present should someone choose to replace it in the future. The bore is Bright mirror shiny with good rifling. Overall an excellent example of a match rifle. As with any military surplus firearm we recommended be inspected by a gunsmith prior to use.
