Description: Grouping of four limited edition prints of Pappy Boyington and WWII air combat from the collection of Robert K. Brown. On October 5th, 1978, RKB connected with Major Gregory “Pappy” Boyington of “Black Sheep” fame at an event and purchased four limited edition prints (different edition numbers) commemorating Black Sheep One’s service in the Pacific. Boyington personally inscribed each one to RKB. The prints include Gregory “Pappy” Boyington Downs His 21st Enemy Aircraft by William Reynolds (967/1000), Gregory “Pappy” Boyington Shot Down by William Reynolds (394/600), Greg “Pappy” Boyington’s Last Flight by Robert Carlin (230/500) and an untitled (possibly matted over) print of Boyington’s Corsair by J. Ficklen (886/1000). All four prints are in very good condition and the group will not be separated. Frame sizes range up to 26 (H) x 37 (W). LT. COL. ROBERT K. BROWN, USAR (Ret.) has lived a life of incredible adventure. He served as a Green Beret in Vietnam, trained troops from other countries and fought communists alongside them in hotspots around the globe, and has diligently defended the Second Amendment via his long-held seat on the NRA Board of Directors. Brown’s publishing career began when he founded Panther Publications, which later merged into Paladin Press. In 1974, RKB sold his portion of Paladin Press and shortly thereafter founded Soldier of Fortune Magazine. Always willing to use the platforms he created in support of what he believes without the slightest regard for the fallout sure to follow, Brown has been praised and damned in equal parts by those dumbstruck that such a person or personality actually exists. Now 87, RKB has elected to part with a number of his special firearms and memorabilia accumulated over the years. The purchaser of each item will receive a personalized letter from RKB discussing its known history, along with a vintage “Communism Stops Here” poster of Brown cradling his sniper rifle during his time in El Salvador from the archives of Soldier of Fortune magazine. PACKING & SHIPPING: Not included. The four prints will be taken to a professional packaging and shipping business where they will be packed/insured/shipped at the purchaser's expense. The estimated cost of this service is approximately $450. Actual cost will be due and payable by purchaser as soon as the total is known. The price is firm and additional photos are available by request (include direct email address with request).
