Here is Mossberg’s 835 GT Grand Slam in full camo. Manufacturer and warrantor is O.F. Mossberg & Sons of Eagle Pass, TX. Construction is steel barrel, bolt, internal parts and trigger in a lightweight alloy receiver with polymer trigger group housing. Buttstock and forend are synthetic with checkered surfaces on the forend and pistol grip area. Chambering is 12 gauge, 3 1/2 inch chamber; and the 835 will digest anything except a slug. Magazine capacity is 5 + 1 on 2 3/4 inch; 4+1 on 3 inch; and 3+1 on 3 1/2 inch shells. Barrel is 20 inch back bored, with Mossberg Accu-Mag® threading. It comes furnished with one .690 Ulti-Full Extended Ported choke tube, and Accu-Mag tubes are readily available throughout the country. No one should ever fire slugs through back bored shotguns like this one. Sight system is an 8 post, .375 serrated surface ventilated rib that sits .23 high over the barrel at midsection; windage and elevation adjustable twin red fiber optic two dot rear sight with green tube dot fiber optic front. Receiver carries a removable twelve slot Weaver or Picatinny type base for mounting optics. Trigger is .300 smooth faced blue steel, pulls in the 5 pound vicinity with minimal felt creep. Safety is traditional tang type. This shotgun is entirely finished in Mossy Oak Break-Up Infinity ® camo pattern. Length of pull is 14 inches from the trigger face to the end of the 1 inch factory rubber recoil pad. Buttstock has a 3/4 inch right hand cant, and so not friendly to southpaw shooters. Weight empty is 6 pounds 13 ounces, with center of gravity 2 inches forward of the receiver. This 835 is what we call a factory demo. It served light duty, likely with a sales rep or writer. It has the letter U stamped near its serial number. Surface detractions are minimal, only edge and operation wear, really no more than one often sees on new display models in stores across the country. We rate it as Excellent, 90 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, mechanism, and choke threads are all bright and clean. If this shotgun was fired at all, it was fewer than 20 times. It comes in a factory Mossberg box with factory lock and instruction manual that includes Mossberg’s warranty statement.
