Factory designation is 441041, a number that is now used for Judge Variant. From its LC600000 range serial number, it was manufactured in 1995. Manufacturer is Forjas Taurus S.A. of Porto Alegre, Brazil. Importer and warrantor is Taurus International of Miami. Type is double and single action revolver. Chambering is .44 Smith & Wesson Special caliber. Construction is entirely steel metal, with Brazilian Goncalo Alves grips. Barrel is 4 inch full lug, with 1:16 right hand six groove rifling. Sights are integral serrated blade ramp type front, with solid recessed serrated center rib, and windage and elevation adjustable black blade rear. Cylinder capacity is 5 rounds of .44 Special ammunition. Hammer and trigger are 1980s style case colored, .400 serrated faced trigger and .430 medium spur length Target Hammer. Weight empty is 37 ounces, with center of gravity at the trigger. Grips are factory original, pick checkered surface lateral Goncalo with thumb and speedloader recess on the left panel. This revolver will load from a 44A speedloader. Surface detractions are moderate, principally finish loss on the muzzle end of the barrel. We rate it as Very Good, 75 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, cylinder chambers, and mechanism are all bright, smooth and clean. Double action trigger pull is smooth and consistent, and the hammer travels fully 15 degrees on all five positions in double action after the cylinder times. On Single action, the hammer travels 25 degrees on all five after timing, and the single action pull gauges at a crisp 4 1/4 pounds with negligible felt creep and moderate overtravel. Blast effect to the under side of the frame top strap directly above the barrel’s forcing cone is minimal, only a faint thin indentation with no depth that traverses half the width of the top strap. Lateral cylinder play is minimal with the trigger relaxed, and negligible with the trigger fully depressed. Cylinder face to forcing cone gap is a perfect .006. This revolver is attractive, serviceably, and even collectable. It comes to us from a light duty career in New England with private security. We’re offering it for only $ 339.00.
