Description: For Sale Colt 1911A1 .45 Colt 1911A1-MFG. 1943(Serial Number 862532) One of 6,575 unsold commercial/ government model pistols transferred by colt to the military. P proof on top of the slide in front of the rear sight and a P on the left side of the frame next to mag release. Barrel marked COLT .45 Auto on the left side with the commercial sale mark S in front of the barrel lug. “G.H.D” inspected and “P” proofed on left side of frame. GHD inspected by ordnance inspector Brig. General Guy H. Drewry, Springfield Ordnance District June, 17, 1942-July 15, 1945. All correct and matching numbers.5’’ barrel. Very good bore and factory sights. Original slide serial numbers under firing pin stop, original type 6 colt diamond grips with large reinforcement rings around screw holes. Correct barrel. Heavy crossed checkered mainspring housing.
