Here is a never fired Weatherby Vanguard 2 Rifle chambered in .30-06 caliber. Manufacturer was Howa Machinery Company Ltd of Kiyosu, Japan. Importer was Weatherby Inc. of Paso Robles, CA, and receiver is so marked. Type is bolt action high powered rifle. Construction is steel barrel, bolt, and internal parts, with alloy trigger guard and floor plate assembly. Barrel is 24 inch with 6 groove 1: 10 rate of twist. Magazine is internal BDL type with quick release floorplate, capacity 4 + 1 rounds. Metal finish is matte blue, with white steel serrated bolt body. Receiver is long action, drilled at 4 points for 700 Long Action bases, furnished with gold tone filler screws. Trigger is .275 serrated face, pulls two stage at 3 pounds with negligible felt creep. Safety is 3 position sliding type, to the right of the bolt cowl. Stock is American Walnut with rosewood BDL type pressure tip. Length of pull measures 13 1/4 inches from the serrated face steel trigger to the end of the 1 inch factory recoil pad. Weight empty is 7 1/2 pounds, center of gravity at the recoil lug. Finish is matte blue metal, with satin stock finish. This Weatherby comes to us from one of our dealer colleagues in nearby Louisiana. It is in its original box with its plastic wrapper, spiff flyers, instruction manual, factory cable lock, and a never executed factory registration card. It shows small amounts of scouring on the pistol grip edge, on the right side of the stock, and on the upper stock flats next to the barrel, shelfwear. Otherwise it is flawless. It has never been sold or fired, only handled. Bore has only grease and cardboard residue. We rate it as Excellent and Unfired, 90 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves.
