This listing is for the exact pistol in the photos. Here is one of the last and best of the late great Browning BDA380 Pistols. Nowhere, however, is the word Browning stamped on them, and this pistol has never been to Morgan Utah or Arnold Missouri. Manufacturer was Pietro Beretta, S.A., of Gardone, Italy, attest the factory PB stamp on right side of slide. Exporter and exclusive international distributor was Fabrique Nationale of Herstal, Belgium. RP serial number date code means 1978. This pistol shipped to the Land of Israel for service with the Mishteret Y'Israel, the Israeli Civilian Police. Recent importer into the US is stamped on the forward right frame side, C.A.I. Georgia VT as the photos show. Type is hammer fired traditional double and single action, double stacked, blowback semi automatic pistol. Construction is Steel barrel, slide, levers, trigger, hammer, screws, internal parts, and magazine body, assembled into an alloy frame, with alloy floorplate and polymer cartridge follower. Caliber chambering is .380 ACP. Barrel is 3 3/4 inch one piece, with six groove right hand 1:10 rifling. Slide fully encloses the barrel, except for the ejection port, with chrome steel full length guide rod, integral bushing, and lateral serrations forward of the safety lever. Sights are half moon round slide integral front, with dovetailed black notch rear. Main safety is ambidextrous lever decocker; the BDA380 also has a firing pin safety and a magazine safety. It will NOT fire single shot with no magazine in battery. Trigger is .332 serrated face, pulls two stage on double action, 11 pound vicinity with 1 1/4 inch of travel. Single action is two stage 5/8 inch travel, 5 pound vicinity pull with minimal felt creep and overtravel. Magazine is factory Beretta 13 rounder, so 13 + 1 round fully loaded capacity. Magazine release is easily reversed for left handed shooters. Grips are glossy finish walnut with Browning Logo. Overall length is 6 3/4 inches by 5 inches height. Slide thickness is 1 inch at the port. Weight empty is 23 1/2 ounces, centered at the breech face. Finish is polished surface blued steel, and gloss black anodized alloy. Surface detractions are minimal to moderate, principally freckling on the center left side of the slide, and pressure marks on the grip panels. We rate this pistol as Very Good, close to Excellent, 85 percent vicinity, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to determine finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate this pistol was fired fewer than 500 times. This is a somewhat rare, First Year Production BDA-380, out of a 1978 – 1997 run.
