Lettered original rifle shipped in 1877. Condition overall would be 90% which is unsual for this model which were normally very heavily used. This rifle has a 28" heavy round barrel retaining 95% original bluing with very light patina starting. Barrel marked OLD RELIABLE and marked Business Model. Barrel has a shiny bore with excellent rifle from breech to muzzle. The sights are a period Lyman brass blade and bead front, a Lyman combination shallow V and Bar with an Ivory triangle rear and a Lyman period correct peep rear. Double set triggers. The receiver has faded case colors with good colors in protected areas. All screws are in excellent unturned condition. Stocks overall are in very good original condition. Forearm wood is rough on the bottom. Butt stock retains 85% original varnish. The wood is crack free and not oil soaked. Everything is there with the except of the sights which are vintage period correct. Caliber is the desireable 45-70. This rifle shoots very accurately with the open sights.
