This is a pre-ban rifle, serial number SP140487, early 1980s manufacture. This particular gun is a safe queen, and appears to us to be unfired except for the factory test. There are just minor handling marks on the stock and handguards, metal is excellent. Bore is mint. The SP-1 features the original Colt tactical configuration without forward bolt assist, 20 in. barrel with 1:12 in. twist, bayonet lug, flash hider, fixed stock with triangular handguards. No case deflector, A1 sights, carry handle, sling swivels with black nylon sling. The left side of the receiver has the Colt logo and reads: "Colt AR-15, Cal. .223, Model SP1, Ser. SP140487". This rifle is fitted with an “Accu Wedge”, an orange rubber wedge put into the space behind the takedown pin in the lower receiver. It provides tension between the receiver halves to prevent movement for improved accuracy. It can easily be removed. You get a whole package with this AR: Four magazines (two 20 round factory and two 30 round aftermarket), sling, cleaning kit, flash hider cap, and a bayonet.
