Here are magazine extension kits for Remington 870 and 1100 shotguns manufactured prior to 1986, that are chambered in 12 gauge, and for any 870P Police series shotgun. Later version series 870, 870 Express, 887, and 11-87 shotguns that have dimpled magazine tubes and gear faced magazine spring retainers will require permanent non reversable modification to remove the dimples from their magazine tube in order to install an extension kit. Manufacturer is Remington Arms of Ilion, NY, and Huntsville, Alabama. Construction is entirely steel, with one piece milled steel tube proper, with threaded 1100 type junction cap that is scored to mate with detent type barrel lugs that issued on Pre-1986 models 870 and 1100; and that issue to this day on 870 and 1100P series shotguns. This extension’s purpose is to add 3 more shells to the payload of a 20 inch or longer barreled Remington. Overall length of the tube itself is 8 1/2 inches. Magazine spring is extension type for this particular setup. Tube and barrel brace are one piece folded steel, complete with screw and forward sling swivel stud. The brace will likely leave bluing wear to the barrel and magazine tube over time. Finish is parkerized steel.
