During WWI Russia had a shortage of weapons and looked to Westinghouse and Remington for weapons. Remington produced roughly 850,000 rifles of which about 150,000 went to Russia. When the Bolshevik revolution occurred, the Russians defaulted on their payments and the U.S. government purchased the rest of the rifles. This rifle has the Russian imperial crest. The stock has been arsenal repaired. The barrel is 31 inches long and the bore has light pitting but the rifling is still in decent condition. The receiver has light pitting on the outside and the finish on the stock is worn. The bolt comes from a Russian Mosin Nagant.
