Description: Made in the pre-D-Day times, when all the M1 Rifles coming out of Springfield Armory in Mass. went straight into combat in one theater, or the other. Serial number 2939211 documented at May 1944 production. Muzzle reads #1 as does the Throat, #1, meaning little to no barrel wear. Clear stock wood with nice figured grain. All metal is marked as US military made. No import mark, as this one came right out of the US Arsenal. A grand piece of US WWII living history that you can take to the range. Firing these rifles, when they are cared for properly does not hurt them. This rifle is fully functional to fire standard 30-06 ammo that can be bought anywhere that ammo is sold. contact sashe at cfl. rr. com for more photos and details use the @ symbol and leave out the spaces. I carried the US M1 Rifle with the 2nd Armored Division in the early 1960s. We were among the last Regular Army troops to carry the M1. Ask all questions and I will answer fast.
