Serial number 4491. Scarce British proofs on barrel, frame, and each cylinder flute. Metal parts have excellent original blue on barrel and cylinder, and case color on frame. Cylinder has a large patch of pitting on one of the chambers, and a small patch of pitting on the bottom of the barrel at the muzzle. Nice etched "COLT NEW 38" panel on left side of barrel. Wood grips are fine, free of cracks and chips, showing a couple minor handling marks. Gun only functions if hammer is pointed down, hammer binds if pointed up. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
