Based on a much-refined and modified commercial Mauser action with serial number B75680 (7213 appears on the tang hidden under the bolt as well as on the underside of the bolt handle) features a 23-inch (25 inches with brake) medium sporter barrel, jeweled bolt body and extractor, flat-bottom checkered bolt knob, Lawson bolt shroud and crossbolt safety, steel bottom metal with inside-the-bow release, Conetrol rings and bases (1-inch low) and polished metal finish. The stock is fashioned from a heavily-figured blank of English walnut with a sleek forend profile, rosewood forend tip and grip cap with contrasting spacers, ebony double diamond inlay on the forend belly, intricate bordered skip-line checkering panels, scalloped rollover cheek rest and flared ventilated recoil pad. MARKINGS: "H. Lawson" is lightly stamped into the forend tip nose. "H. Lawson Co. 650, Cal. 375 H&H Mag" appears on barrel right. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 8.6 pounds and length-of-pull is 13.7 inches. CONDITION: The bore is strong and bright. Blue is at least 90 percent, with one rack rub ahead of the forend tip, a few freckles and rubbing/thinning over the bottom metal. The nickel finish of the bolt body/extractor/handle is approximately 85 percent due to tarnishing. Wood is approximately 95 percent, with modest impressions and some minor chipping along the edges of the grip cap. The price is firm and layaway is available.
