Description: This is a 1863 Springfield Musket, stock is not cracked or repaired, lock strong, appearance very good, typical patina and pitting for a war relic. Purchased from reputable seller and recently evaluated at auction house as to authenticity and that it appears all pieces are original and not from multiple rifles. I have no idea if it is safe to fire. Cartouches on left side and clear Federal Eagle.
