Les Bauska made magnum actions for himself and others before he died and they were considered the strongest actions ever made, capable of handling cartridges up to the mighty .505 Gibbs. This gun exemplifies this without being too heavy and the Shostle engraving only enhances this striking big bore rifle. The metal surfaces retain 98% of a soft satin blue having a couple of very faint scratches on the barrel. Much of the metal including the breech end of the barrel, action, bolt handle, magazine floorplate, and triggerguard show deep relief acanthus leaf scroll engraving with shaded background, the action and floorplate also displaying a scalloped border. In addition, there is a double gold band at the breech end of the barrel and the engraver has signed his work at the bottom of the rear receiver ring. The maker's name and address appear on the left side of the action and "BBK-02" is marked on the right front receiver ring.There is a blued steel gripcap with checkered center. A German silver monogram oval is inlayed into the toeline of the stock along with a sling swivel stud and there is an integral sling ring on the underside of the barrel. The rifle features an integral ramp mounted blade front sight, a four leaf express rear sight with one standing and three folding leaves mounted on a low quarter rib, and grooved bridges on the receiver for scope mounting. Included are Conetrol scope rings and bases and quick detachable sling swivels along with a foam lined shipping box (box not pictured). The figured pistolgrip stock with schnabel forend is excellent showing a few scattered tiny dings over a rubbed satin oil finish and displaying crisp double border multi point checkering. The decelerator recoil pad is perfectly fitted providing a length of 14". The stock has a nicely carved beaded right hand cheekpiece and the front of the comb is fluted.
