Here is an immaculately preserved Carter Era Steel Frame Harrington & Richardson blue steel frame revolver in 4 inch Square Butt. Its attractiveness has been enhanced by the professional installation of a set of beautiful Mahogany-stained walnut grips. This revolver's only surface detractions are moderate cylinder rotation marking, and a light spot in the stained finish of the right side grip panel. We rate it as Excellent, since 90 to 95 percent of its original finish is intact by our estimate. Photos should suffice, however, for interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically. Bore, cylinder chambers, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. The cylinder times correctly in all six positions on both single and double action with plenty of hammer travel to spare after timing. This is one of the few trade in firearms that we did not have to clean, and our compliments to its Florida owners for maintaining it so well. Serial number prefix is AR, manufactured in President Carter's Inaugural Year of 1977. This steel frame H&R, of course, is capable of handling significantly more pressure than .32 S&W Long factory loads produce. A few of its descendants were chambered in .32 H&R Magnum, without redesigning the frame. This is a double and single action revolver with transfer bar internal safety device. It weighs 25 ounces empty, barrel is 4 inches long, capacity is 6 rounds of .32 S&W or .32 S&W Long Ammunition, and construction is entirely Blued Steel.
