From its exclusive local West Tennessee owner’s estate comes this attractive and accurate Tikka M595 Rifle chambered in .22-250 Remington caliber. It is the ancestor to the current production T3 Forest Beretta number JRTF614. Manufacturer is Sako Limited of Riihimäki, Finland. Tikkakoski, or Tikka, merged with Sako in 1983. From this M595’s 900,000 range serial number, we estimate it was manufactured in 1994, its final year of importation. We pulled a 1997 Production Leupold Scope off. Importer was probably Stoeger Arms, but it is nowhere import stamped. Type is center fire bolt action rifle. Construction is steel barrel, bolt, and action, with only alloy rear bolt cowl and magazine release tab. Stock, trigger guard / magazine retainer assembly, and magazine are polymer. Barrel is free floating hammer forged 22.43 inch six groove right hand 1:14 rifling. Outside diameter is 1.08 at the chamber, .730 at the end of the forend, and .633 at the muzzle. Receiver is distinctive Finnish hexagonal faced, with serrated dovetailed flat top that is also drilled for the included Weaver #61 twin bases. Safety is right side behind the bolt handle, silent under pressure. Bolt release is on the left side. Bolt is one piece white steel body, with dovetailed operating handle and twin lug lockup. Cowl has a red tab cocked position indicator. Magazine is 3 shot smooth body polymer, 3 + 1 fully loaded capacity. Trigger is single stage adjustable .250 serrated face steel, and this rifle pulls on an exceptionally light 1 1/2 pounds with no felt creep and minimal overtravel. Stock is one piece European Walnut, with cut checkered laterals on the forend area and pistol grip. Drop is standard 1.5 inches at the comb and 2.5 inches at the butt; stock has a 3/4 inch right hand cant. This rifle is Not southpaw friendly. Length of pull is 14 inches from the trigger face to the end of the 1/2 inch factory recoil pad. Weight empty no scope is 7 pounds 10 ounces with center of gravity at the breech face. Surface detractions are only moderate, principally a dozen or so contact mars to the stock and toning to the never blued bolt handle. We rate this 595 as Very Good, 85 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate this rifle was fired fewer than 300 times, all with factory ammunition.
