Login Contact Seller Description: Colt Prototype Lightweight Government Model Semi-Auto Pistol Shipped to Colt Sales Manager Rich Churchill serial #X200804, 45 ACP, 5” barrel with a bright excellent bore. The slide of this prototype series 80 pistol retains about 99% original blue showing just a hint of mild operational wear while the satin stainless steel frame rates excellent perhaps showing a couple tiny handling marks. The checkered double diamond rosewood grips with silver Colt medallions rate excellent as-new. The included factory letter details all of the special features including blued slide with “silver Teflon” receiver, checkered rosewood grips, national match barrel and serrated steel mainspring housing. The letter goes into further detail stating the pistol was made as a prototype two-tone model used for developing the production model Lightweight Government Model pistol (internal number 01880XSE). The arm was later purchased by Mr. Richard Churchill, Commercial Sales Manager for Colt’s, and shipped to the Newington Gun Exchange in Newington , CT for him on November 23, 2011. The pistol is sighted with Colt-branded Novak three dot sights and the action seems to function well mechanically. The pistol includes its original blue plastic factory hard case end-labeled and numbered to the gun along with two factory stainless 8-round magazines in excellent condition, manual, lock, chamber flag and orange hang tag. An excellent Colt prototype pistol shipped to a company man and a wonderful opportunity for the advanced Colt collector.
