This listing is for the exact pistol in the photos. Here is a Sig favorite, the model P230. Manufacturer was Sig Sauer GmbH of Eckenford, Germany. New importer was Interarms of Alexandria, VA. Production ran from 1977 until 1996 only. From this Sig's JC German Date Code, it was manufactured in 1982, sixth year of production. This pistol served with in the Land of Israel with the Mishteret Y'Israel, the civilian police. Second importer was Century Arms, of Georgia, VT, so marked on the slide's left side as required by GCA 1968. Type is Walther PP descendant, hammer fired, traditional double and single action blowback semi automatic pistol. Chambering is .380 ACP, what the Germans call 9mm Kurz, or 9x17, or 9mm Browning. Construction is steel barrel, slide, levers, trigger, hammer, internal parts, grip screws, and magazine body, with polymer magazine floorplate and grips, built onto a lightweight alloy frame. Barrel is 3.6 inches, with 6 groove 1:10 right hand rifling. Slide has lateral rear serrations. Sights are contrast, slide integral front with solid serrated rib and dovetailed notch rear that is drift adjustable only for windage. Disassembly lever is left side frame mounted. Trigger is .330 smooth faced, with .355 short serrated spur hammer. Safety position is half cocked, with left side frame mounted decocker. Trigger is two stage, with 1 3/16 inches travel, pulls at a smooth 11 pound vicinity double action. On single action, pull is 4 pounds vicinity with minimal felt creep and overtravel. Magazine is factory 7 rounder, fully loaded capacity 8 rounds of .380 ACP ammunition. Note the European style magazine release at the butt. Slide thickness is .86 inch; overall length is 6 5/8 inches; height is 4 3/4 inches. Weight empty is 18 ounces. Finish is blued steel, with matte uppers and brushed surface laterals, with matte black anodized frame. Surface detractions are moderate, principally finish freckling and edge wear. We rate this Sig as Very Good Condition, 75 to 80 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate this pistol has been fired 1500 times, no rounds at all for a Sig. Replacement pricing was $649 on the successor P232 when it was discontinued in 2014.
