This is an excellent example of a Lee Enfield #4 MK II (F) Cal. 303 British rifle. It was manufactured in February 1952 at the Fazakerly arsenal near Liverpool England. These No 4 MKII rifles were a major redesign over earlier models. The new features included a strengthened receiver, a trigger that was pinned to the receiver rather than the trigger guard, a heavier barrel and better sights. The improved sights featured a rear peep sight as well as an adjustable flip-up peep sight for long-range shooting. The Enfield #4 MKII has a reputation of being the most accurate of the Enfield series of rifles.
This Enfield #4 MKII has all matching numbers: bolt, receiver and stock. The detachable ten round magazine is a mismatch. The bore is mirror bright with sharp lands. Rifle comes with a brass butt plate. There is a very small unreadable import mark on the rear stock band. This Enfield would be an outstanding collectable or excellent shooter.
