Description: Left Hand Winchester Model 52B Sporter bolt action 22 caliber Rifle. My Father special ordered this rifle from Winchester, for one of his hunting buddies, a few years after the end of WWII. The only thing Winchester offered in a "left hand" for a 52 Sporter was their standard model with a left hand stock. After receiving the rifle he ordered a Lyman All American 6x scope (the best optics available at the time) with a special order quarter minute dot reticle. He mounted it to the rifle with milled steel Redfield bases and rings and proclaimed it the best shooting 22 in North West Missouri. It was absolutely the best, and the most expensive, set up available at that time. Years later my Dad's buddy died and he bought the rifle from his friend's estate. My father kept the rifle locked up until just before his death (25 years ago) when he gave it to me. I took the rifle out and shot it and I think it might still be the best shooting 22 rifle in the state. The tiny dot allows for unbelievably accurate shooting. The rifle shoots better than I can shoot it. I put the gun away and it's been in storage ever since however I am now 72 years old and have decided it is time to pass this rare left handed classic along. The stock is in good condition with no cracks or chips however there are a few light scratches from field use (see photos). The stock is unaltered (LOP 14") and has the standard Winchester steel butt plate and a trigger shoe (see photos). The 24" barrel still has a great bore and will shoot as good a it did when it was new.
