One of several early versions that we finally got around to modifying for carry. This gun is brand new with box other than it having been modified, refinished and tested. This gun was modified for those who understand how to properly carry a 1911 - a round in the chamber and hammer down on the half-cock safety. This does not mean that the gun cannot be foolishly carried hammer cocked, slide locked and the thumb safety engaged. It means that it can be carried in the more safe hammer down mode. The rear portion of the slide has been lowered and the sight replaced with a Trijicon H&K Night Sight. The front sight has the appropriate Trijicon sight. The beaver tail was replaced with the more traditional grip safety. The shelf allows quick access to the hammer, and the removal of the beaver tail allows for a quick hand transition to the firing grip. This gun is designed for those who are practiced in cocking on the draw, and use the thumb safety only for emergency cessations in firing. The gun still has the original perforated trigger and extended ambidextrous thumb safeties. We will replace those with solid trigger and single or ambidextrous non-extended thumb safeties at a reasonable cost. We will also replace the slide release with an extended slide release at a reasonable cost. Again, this is a lightweight carry gun for level headed people who are willing to practice with their firearm and understand the design of the 1911 and its original intended use and how that applies to carry modifications. The gun comes with one magazine. The grip is somewhat longer than the Para P-12 or Officer models. No pinky extension is required, but it can easily be installed on the magazine. The barrel is 3.25 inches.
