Photos show the first Ithaca X-15 Rifle we've had in our store in almost 30 years. Ithaca considered it state-of-the-art at the time, and the rifle exhibits the modernist styling of the Jet Age, the 1950s. Buttstock is oil finished American Walnut; metal is entirely blued steel, 22 inch barrel with original Ray-Bar prismatic high visibility fiber optic sights and step adjustable rear sight. Receiver is grooved for 3/8 inch base 1 inch scope mount rings. The X-15 was manufactured only from 1964 until 1967, successor to the X5-C. This specimen is Very Good, close to Excellent, in condition on our view. Original bluing is strong throughout with 15 percent or so brownish toning or spotting on areas like the receiver sides, muzzle, and magazine. Trigger guard is original high-impact plastic with white steel beveled trigger. Swivel studs are period correct, longer than the ones made nowadays. Buttplate is original Ithaca with one short center crack above the lower plate screw that does not go toward the edge. Spacer appears to be replacement, older white and drawn. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Note that the rear sight elevator is missing, not a big deal, easily replaced.
