Here is a rather scarce rifle, one of only a few Taurus ever produced as a copy of the fable 62 Winchester. This is the Taurus 172 pump: 23 inch blue round barrel, tube feed magazine, and Brazilian Walnut stock and forend. Since the .17 HMR is pretty much a 150 yard maximum round, the Taurus open sights will serve well for most occasions in small game and varmint hunting situations. Here is West Tennessee, we like open sights for taking coyotes running across bean fields. And this fine little rifle has all the classic lines of the 62 Winchester with twice the range and power. It is a take-down like its ancestor, easy to clean; and the only difference is the patented Taurus hammer block safety atop the bolt. This specimen is in Excellent conditionl. Its only apparent surface detraction is a couple of etchy mars on the exterior barrel surface’s upper right side between the forend tip and the magazine lug. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all Excellent, and this rifle has been fired fewer than 100 rounds. The hammer has Taurus’s lock mechanism, and the rifle comes furnished with two keys. What few of these showed up in our area sold new for over $300 apiece. We’re offering this one, however, for only $ 229.95
