This 1911-styled semi-auto pistol is a military/police surplus pistol imported in large numbers in recent years. Despite its outward resemblance to the Browning 1911, this "innards" are entirely different: much simpler with fewer parts, a design that emphasized expediency. These have an 8-round magazine that takes the 9mm Largo (a round that moves out at around 1200 ft/sec with 124 grain bullet). This design does away with Browning's grip safety. simplifying the production costs and time. It feels very much like a 1911: grip angle and circumference are similar. and the safety and slide lock are in familiar places. It has a loaded chamber indicator, and carries the traditional combat sights. We've put on new wood grips which feel quite grippy." We took a couple of these Star's in on trade, but we don't typically retail them. They have been cleaned and functioned testes, but not fired.
