Accepted Payment Methods: Returns: 3 Days This Seller Accepts Instant Online Payments Description: Up for sale is an original U.S. Harpers Ferry M1855 Rifle Musket (.58 Cal.). This item has a 40” barrel and wood stocks. Inspection with a bore scope shows the rifling to be intact and prevalent, a little very light pitting is visible with a little surface rust, this bore is in great shape for its age and still retains a lot of the shine. The exterior metal shows light pitting, light scratches and wear in the finish. The original rear sight is missing. The stocks show dings and scratches in the wood as well as a couple of chips. The hammer springs is still strong, the nipple is in good condition and the feed mechanism for the caps seems to work just fine. Some has scratches their social security number in to the lower tang which I colored out in the one particular picture. This is a neat piece of history that is in really good shape for a 160 year old arm.
