Type is traditional double and single action, hammer fired, locked breech semi automatic pistol. Barrel is 3.9 inches with 6 groove right hand 1:10 rifling. Sight system is factory Meprolight MH3 AO Night Sights, luminous 3 dot type, drift adjustable only for windage, but all Sigs are point of aim from the factory. Trigger is .350 MIM Steel smooth face, pulls double action at 11 pounds vicinity, with a 5 pound single action pull that has minimal to moderate felt creep and overtravel. The P229 has a decocking lever and a firing pin safety. It does not have and does not need any lock safety. Caliber is 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, 9x19, call it what you will, THE 9mm. This pistol comes furnished with two serrated side, 15 round factory magazines, so fully loaded capacity is 15 + 1 rounds.
