Proof marks on this rifle suggest civilian pre-1926 production [7 pt. star] then confiscated for WWII use [D’s separated by arrows] and during 1942 [receiver date] retrofitted with updated rear sight [MKIII] and new barrel. Barrel is numbered to rifle has very strong lands. Comes with military sling. All rifle numbers match with exception of upgraded rear sight. The F.T.R. is consistent with Factory Thorough Repair in 1942. The stock is marked “SLAZ 42” suggesting original to receiver WWII date. Brass enforcement rods in stocks suggest post 1917 production. The rifle, barrel, and stock are full of Australian proof marks showing extended history of civilian and military use and original to rifle. Shipping is actual to your address.
