Here is a very attractive Mossberg 190 Bolt Action from the period of many of our births, the model was only manufactured from 1955 until 1958, one of several of the sturdy utilitarian Mossbergs of the period. This one is a 16 gauge with two shot steel internal magazine, 2 + 1 capacity. Barrel is standard 2 3/4 inch chamber, 26 inches including the original Mossberg C-Lect Choke. Note that the barrel is vertically ported, 5 ports on each lateral side behind the choke device. This is a nice and original bright-blue-and-walnut Mossberg Bolt Action. Surface wear is moderate on the walnut stock, and almost minimal on the metal. We classify it as Very Good, since no more than 20 percent of its surfaces are affected by any wear or weathering by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for interested shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Length of pull is the original 13 1/2 inches, and the buttplate is original. It is excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. This is a local West Tennessee rabbit-and-squirrel shotgun, hasn’t been fired all that much.
