Circa 1936 Parker made after Remington took over production. This is a Meriden gun with very figured and hard to find English stock. I have seen DH grade Parkers that did not have wood this nice. This gun is in exceptional ORIGINAL condition. Examine the photos and notice the wood to metal fit, the clear checkering with factory border, sharp engraving, and screws that are near perfect. The combination of hard to find features and nice original condition makes this gun unique in today’s market place. Most of us know how hard it is to find straight gripped Parkers!
The 28” barrels have mirror bores, extractors, 2 ¾” chambers, choked Light Mod/Improved Mod (.015/.024), light handling marks, still retains machine marks on breech face of barrels, 93% original blue, sharp lettering, tight ribs and barrels ring like chimes. Barrels are tight on face and hinge, action retains about 50% vivid original case color, excellent screws, double triggers, lever to right of center, #1 frame gun that weighs 6lbs. 7oz., sharp engraving, fair amount of original nitre blue on the trigger guard, really nice condition.
The wood is outstanding with excellent checkering, exceptional figure, 14 1/16” LOP to original Dog’s Head buttplate, 2 3/8” drop at heel, 1 7/16” drop at comb, for great modern dimensions that are tough to find. The wood to metal fit is perfect, no cracks, splits, or repairs. The forend is in excellent condition as well with excellent checkering and wood to metal fit.
If you want great wood, an English stock with great dimensions, and nice original condition with no flaws other than gentle wear, this is the gun. I have many more photos upon request. I have searched the internet and there are no comparables out there. Lots of run -of- the- mill VH guns, but condition and features don’t come close to this one. DON’T HESITATE.
