Appears to be marked Sutton on lock with "TTON" visible with partial eagle marking and clear date of 1813 at rear of lock. 44-1/4" barrel. Metal parts have an attractive dark patina overall with some pitting in the barrel breech area. Stock is good, showing average wear and use overall with two long slivers missing from the forearm edge on each side between middle and upper bands. Unusual is that the buttstock is scooped out in the comb on the right side during the period of use. Typically, this is seen on the left side, supposedly to aid in shooting while wearing the heavy greatcoats of the day. Being on the right side would indicate use by a left handed shooter.
