This is a hand-held, 4-AA battery, black & white LCD GPS device for finding your location or navigating when outdoors. This is a used but not abused unit. It still works 100%, but has a few use marks. There are many ways to use this unit, way too numerous to discuss here. The main use is to mark your first location when leaving your vehicle to go into the woods. Then at every major change in direction you mark a "waypoint." Then after your time in the woods or where ever, you can follow your route and waypoints back to your original start point. Or you can select to go directly to your original start point and take a completely different track back. Shows compass direction, elevation, time to destination, and many, many more items. Can be used for marine navigation. What this is NOT is one of the modern "Navi" type navigation devices you place on your dash to find shopping, eating, or fueling locations. This unit does not have a data base like those other units. No downloadable street maps, etc. This is generally a waypoint to waypoint navigation tool to keep from getting lost when you travel off-the-road or in remote locations. You must reach a location and save it as a waypoint before you can use that location for navigation. Uses replaceable AA batteries, so carry spares for longer trips. Unit originally cost $245.
