Here is a no longer catalogued 9mm Witness. It comes to us from its exclusive owner in Arizona. Manufacturer is Fratelli Tanfoglio S.N.C. of Gardone Val Trompa, Italy. Importer and warrantor is European American Armory of Cocoa, Florida. It is a CZ75 type, locked breech semi automatic pistol. Construction is steel barrel, slide, levers, hammer, trigger, magazine body and internal parts built into a polymer grip frame. Chambering is 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, 9x19, call it what you will, THE 9mm. Barrel is 3.6 inch Chrome plated and lined, conventional six groove right hand 1:9.84 rifling, and the Witness has always digested any kind of ammunition from lead nose reloads to steel case Russian to Federal Premium. Guide rod is chrome plated full length steel. Slide is rear serration steel. Sights are dovetailed white dot front, with Novak type white dot rear that is drift adjustable only for windage. Trigger is .325 serrated face blue, with matching commander type hammer. Hammer is 2 position, and the left side mounted, right hand shooter safety lever engages on all three positions, but does not decock the hammer. The Witness has a firing pin safety but no magazine safety: it will fire single shot with no magazine. Double action trigger pull is 12 pound vicinity with 1 1/8 inch of travel. Single Action pull is two stage, gauges at 4 3/4 pounds with moderate felt creep and overtravel. Magazine release is reversible for left handed shooters; and ambidextrous safeties are commonly available. Magazines are both factory issue 16 rounders, total fully loaded capacity 16+1 rounds. This pistol will accept any CZ75 Magazine. Overall length is 7 3/8 inches from the muzzle to the grip frame strut, with 5 5/8 inches height. Frame thickness is 1.21 inches at its widest, at the ejection port; but the grips are only 1.35 inch thick below the panel risers. Weight empty is 27 1/2 ounces with center of gravity at the breech face. Surface detractions on this TZ75 are negligible; all we see is one tiny white spot on the upper edge of the ejection port. We rate this pistol as Excellent, perhaps Near Mint, 95 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate it has been fired fewer than 100 times. It comes in its original box with protective papers, locking device, extra magazine, and instruction manual that specifies EAA’s lifetime limited warranty. From its CM Italian Date Code, this pistol was manufactured in 2014. It originally shipped with a .22 Conversion Kit that we have for sale separately; and the combo is long discontinued. This variant’s slide is identical to current production Compact Witness Poly pistols; but its grip frame is full sized. It is a P series, and so marked on its box.
