1887 Mauser I.G. Mod. 71/84 10.95mm (commonly known as 11mm)
First regulation brass cartridge rifle of the German Imperial Army.
Built under Monarch King Ludwig of Bavaria in the Amberg arsenal.
This appears to an officers practice rifle with modifications done in antiquity.
Shortened stock (23.5") and magazine (4 or 5 rounds) trigger guard, barrel band, butt plate
have different serial numbers.
20" barrel, Original flip up elevation sight, "winged" thumb flip safety, steel butt plate, "beavertail" bolt handle.
Over 200 rounds of ammo in original boxes, dated 1889, 90 pieces of empty brass.
This rifle is museum quality, previous owner was gunsmith. (my father)
