Here is a good little .25 Automatic, identical to FIE’s Titan Series. Numbered model on this variant was GT27B. Until 1966, this pistol’s ancestors were manufactured by Fratelli Tanfoglio S.N.C. of Gardone Val Trompa, Italy. Slide is so marked. Parts importer and final manufacturer was Excam of Hialeah, FL, who set up shop in 1974 and ran until 1992. From this specimen’s S08000 range serial number, it was produced in the early 1980s, probably 1983. Type is hammer fired single action only blowback action semi-automatic vest pocket pistol, with safety that works reverse from the normal thumb motion on similar guns. Safety will engage with the hammer at rest or cocked. Construction is steel barrel, hammer, trigger, lever, and internal parts, with zinc alloy / zamak or pot metal frame, trigger, and magazine release. Grip panels are factory walnut. Barrel is 2 1/4 inch with six groove right hand 1:16 rifling. Sight is barrel integral serrated ramp front with slide integral fixed notch rear. Chambering is .25 ACP Caliber, and the steel magazine holds 6 rounds, 6 + 1 fully loaded capacity. Note the European style butt mounted magazine release; note also that Tanfoglios do not always lock the slide open on an empty magazine. Trigger is .225 chrome plated alloy smooth face, with matching steel Commander type serrated hammer. Trigger pull is 10 pound vicinity. Weight empty is 12 ounces. Finish is blued steel and anodized alloy, with chrome plated magazine release, trigger, and hammer. Surface detractions are moderate to extensive, principally brown toning to the frame surfaces. This is, after all, a pocket pistol, and that’s where its owner carried it. We rate it as only Good, 65 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We do not believe this pistol has been fired more than 200 times.
