This mid 1963 manufactured pistol retains 99% of its original factory blue and anodized finishes. The only visible wear to the finish is a very small spot of silvering at the muzzle and few tiny scratch marks on the butt of the grip frame. The smooth walnut grips feature a black Ruger Phoenix with the right one exhibiting a small area of flaked black paint. The wood is in excellent condition with a few very light handling marks, most notably on the left panel. This transitional pistol features a rear sight with steel housing and blade, and aluminum ejector rod housing. The rear sight housing is drifting to a plum color and the sides of the hammer have a few minor dark stains at the top. This gun also features a pressed-in breech block stop. Included with this rare Ruger is a period correct box that is hand numbered to the pistol and it contains a manual. Ruger collectors far outnumber the 3,037 of these pistols that were manufactured by Sturm Ruger. Included is a dovetail scope mount for the barrel and a Bushnell Phantom long eye relief scope with clear optics. The back of the scope and scope mount exhibit light dings and dents with the finish removed in those areas.This is a rare opportunity to fill that niche in your collection with an excellent condition Hawkeye.
