Here is the most desireable variant of the Mossberg 590. This is the 590 Mariner, capable of holding 9 rounds. Metal finish is Mossberg’s closest approximation to stainless steel, their MarineCote™ electroless nickel process. Manufacturer and warrantor is O.F. Mossberg & Sons of New Haven, CT, and Eagle Pass, TX. Type is double slide bar pump action tactical shotgun. Construction is steel barrel, bolt, slide arms and internal parts with lightweight alloy receiver and polymer trigger group housing. Capacity is 8 + 1 on 2 3/4 inch shells, or 7 + 1 on 3 inch magnums. Barrel is 20 inch Police Cylinder with Hex based solid brass bead sight, threaded into place. We have added a Masen Company polymer and brass screw heat shield. Buttstock and forend are traditional serrated Corncob configuration forend with paneled-grip black buttstock that has a 1 inch smooth rubber recoil pad. Also included is a Cruiser pistol grip that will replace and interchange with the buttstock. All three pieces are high impact black polymer. This combo includes nickel finish steel swivel studs for its magazine cap, cruiser grip, and buttstock, as the photos show. Safety is traditional Mossberg top tang, polymer. Buttstock length of pull measures 14 inches from the .300 smooth steel trigger face to the end of the half inch recoil pad; but the buttstock’s 3/4 inch right hand cant is Not friendly for left handed shooters. Weight empty is 6 7/8 pounds. Each 590 comes in its factory box with instruction manual and warranty statement, and Mossberg cable lock.
