Smith / Hunter Arms 2-E 12 gauge with ejectors, 30-inch fluid steel barrels and 2.75-inch chambers. Supported by a factory letter from 1976, serial number 209269 was originally shipped on 11/25/1907. Chokes are F/F. Numbers match. The action is engraved with a bobwhite on the left and duck on the right, both supported by borders and scroll that continues over the bottom, runs along the guard/tang and picks up on the forend furniture. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 7.4 pounds, LOP is 13.7 inches, drops are 1.75 and 2.75 inches. Cast (off) is slight, maybe .25 inch. CONDITION: Bores remain bright sight indications of use, including with might be the beginning of a ring about 10 inches forward of the right chamber. Ejectors pop with authority. Barrels wear an older reblue over light freckling and are currently about 80% with some thinning and minor blotching. Rib markings remain sharp. Action and forend furniture colors have been refreshed and show about 60%. Engraving is sharp. Metal surface is quite good, with smaller areas of browning and tarnish. Guard blue is 60%, with an area of pitting on the lower loop. Forend wood appears to be original and in excellent condition as refinished. Ebony accent remains intact. Butt has been shortened, refinished and subjected to the humiliation of a white-lined pad. Grip cap appears to be original ebony, although faded to gray. Price firm. Layaway considered.
