Description: Rare Colt Officers Model Revolver with Short Barrel serial #457034, 38 Special, 4" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces on this rare short-barrel Officers Model Target retain about 97-98% original blue, the loss is due to some extremely light muzzle wear, light sharp edge of frame wear and some toning on the straps, the front strap with a few small handling marks. The barrel features the diminished two-line address, as seen on other 4" barrels of period, and the arm features a bead front sight with shallow u-notch rear. The bright-polished sides of the hammer are mostly brilliant with some very light staining in the area of the spur and the face of the trigger is neatly checkered. The checkered diamond panel walnut grips with recessed silver Colt medallions rate about excellent with only some light handling marks, they are pencil-numbered to the gun on their interior. While having seen some light use, the gun was very well cared for and remains in a very fine state of condition. A very rare short-barrel Officers Model Target revolver overall very very seldom-encountered. There is no box or papers
