From its exclusive home atop a 1996 production Browning 1885 Low Wall .243 Single Shot Rifle comes this pristine specimen of the tried and true Bushnell Banner series rifle scopes. That is the only rifle it has ever been mounted on. Manufacturer was Su Optics of Changwon City, Republic of Korea. Importer and warrantor is Bushnell Outdoor Corp. of Overland Park, KS. Construction is one piece tube and objective bell, aircraft grade aluminum alloy. Eyepiece is 32mm multi coated lens, rubber armored and adjustable. Objective lens is 50mm, and yields superior light gathering qualities. Objective lens adjustment eliminates parallax, or fish eye effect, at long ranges. Field of view on 6x Magnification is 18 feet at 100 yards. Eye relief is 3.5 inches, but our photographer claims to get a clear view out to 4 12 inches. Main tube yields 6 1/4 inches of 1 inch diameter ring mounting surface, with an overall length of 15 5/8 inches. Reticle is Multi-X, like the classic Weaver Dual X or Leupold Duplex crosshairs. Windage and Elevation adjustments are 1/4 minute click type. Scope weight is 18 ounces, with about two ounces for the rings. Surface detractions on this scope are negligible. It comes with its original Medium height Redfield Steel Rings that will fit any similar construction base mount. Rear ring is set 4 7/8 inch forward of the eyepiece, and 11 1/4 inches forward of the Browning’s butt plate. We have not moved its rings, but they show no evidence of over tightening, and the heavy Browning .243 produced only negligible recoil. Vertical crosshair is correctly aligned in the scope rings, and was perfectly plumb with the rifle. This scope’s exclusive local West Tennessee owner had more sense than to ever wipe a lens with his shirt tail; neither lens shows any wear to its coatings. Scope finish is matte black, with blued steel Redfield Medium Rings. We rate this Banner as Excellent Condition, perhaps Near Mint, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Replacement pricing on the rings alone is $40, and MSRP on the scope itself is $215. Mind you, that’s for a China made scope and this one is Korean. That’s a $300 out the door replacement price.
