We are offering for sale a beautifully carved and engraved 16 Ga. DOUBLE BARREL PERCUSSION SHOTGUN. This gun is unmarked for a maker.
31 ¾” barrels are very good with a nice patina. Bore appears to be very good; clean without much wear. Breech end of the barrels are beautifully fluted with an engraved top rib. Engravings run down the spine of the upper and lower tangs as well as on both sideplates. Sideplates both missing a screw on the back side. Hammers are unique and beautifully decorated; Both hammers function properly. Double triggers. Missing percussion nipples. Stock is very good and quite beautiful. Both the butt stock and the fore-end are nicely checkered. Butt stock has a nicely carved decoration under the cheek rest. Rear sling stud base appears to be bone or ivory; Missing rear sling stud. This shotgun has what appears to be the original ramrod.
