The Winchester Model 1912 or more simply Model 12 became an instant hit on its introduction. So smooth and fluid is the action that the Model 12 earned the epithet of 'The perfect repeater'. All Model 12's are built in a take-down configuration, a couple of quick operations separates the gun into two transportable pieces with all parts captive, making for easy cleaning and storage.
Vintage Firearms Inc is pleased to offer for sale this unique Winchester Model 12, 12gauge shotgun SN 1757408 manufactured in 1959. It has Winchesters first style of vent rib and is also stocked with the famous Hydro-Coil recoil reducing system. The Gun is in notable condition with all original factory finishes remaining at 98%. It has a factory installed “Milled Rib” also commonly known as the “Two Pin Duck Billed Rib”, first catalogued in 1920 and available until 1960. The knurling on the rib carries onto the duckbill extension and completes its travel along the receiver to the stock. The roll marks are clear and sharp with the correctly offset proof mark visible next to the rib, the rib is not branded. The barrel has 99% of its factory blue evident with no thinning at the muzzle. The 30” barrel has a mirrored bore and is choked FULL. The action is smooth and the trigger breaks crisply at 3.75lb. Only Winchester offered the revolutionary Hydro-Coil system, formed to match Winchester’s Pigeon Grade furniture it was credited with reducing recoil up to 85%. Ideal for your upland hunting needs of for shooting clays all day long, the Hydro-Coil stock makes sore shoulders and fatigue a thing of the past.
