This gun was "born" in 1926 and it sports the "Take-Down" feature so you can discreetly carry it, in your luggage, on a plane, train, Bus, Boat or Automobile and no one need know you have it, because the longest half of the gun is only 24" long. The old, skilled hunter who originally owned it took it by train each fall, from Milwaukee, WI to the Wisconsin North Woods, to harvest his yearly supply of White Tail Venison. He packed it in his suitcase with his clothing and cartridges and some food. He got at least 18 Bucks that I know of, maybe more. It is easy to clean - from the Breech end - and the tapered 24" barrel and half magazine make it lighter and easier to carry than the 26" rifles it replaced in the catalog. The receiver, or frame, is the Reliable model 94 Winchester of Pre-War quality. The metal and wood are very good. Barrel has most of its blue (Lightened by age and use). No blue on the receiver Receivers of this period were case hardened and their blue did not last, from carrying and use. The wood is very good for its age, no cracks, and the original finish remains. Probably very capable of taking all the game you will ever hunt for with it. All stampings and numbers are very sharp and clear Has a flat buckhorn rear sight and a Marble @2 front sight with ivory bead. Very good, stromg bore.. Colonel Whelan stock with steel butt-plate. If you hunt, this gun can fill your Tags if you are a good hunter. There are 18 small notches on the left wrist, a practice of the old days. Please use USPS M.O.s for your remittance.
