A new-in-box Colt Python of this vintage and style is a rare bird. This Python belongs to one of, if not the most, desirable Colt Python series. Manufactured in 2003, it is amongst only a handful of 4", Royal Blue Pythons. Colt ceased general manufacturing and sales of their Python line in 1999, instead offering them only through their Custom Shop as an "on demand" item. In 2005 Colt stopped all production of the Python line only to return again earlier this year. A growing number of recent reports however, suggest that the 2020 Pythons do not match earlier generations in terms of reliability. The early 2000 models might then be considered the pinnacle of the Python history. This particular firearms has been stored in a temperature and humidity controlled environment, and while it has been photographed in its original, hard sided, blue plastic container, it is and has been stored in plush soft case and wrapped in silicone infused cloth for corrosion protection. It is removed monthly, inspected/wiped down, and immediately replaced. There is no discernible wear beyond factory test firing. The hammer has been cocked less than a dozen times. There are the faintest cylinder index lines, no more-so than that from the factory. I am the sole owner, it has never been fired outside of factory test firing. Everything is original. The condition is new. Serial number PE06139 Includes the original blue case (see photo for matching box/firearm serial), original literature, trigger tag, and cylinder protection disc.
