Here is Mossberg’s tried and true Model 500 Pump Shotgun chambered in 20 gauge and shortened, the Super Bantam. Manufacturer and warrantor is O.F. Mossberg & Sons, New Haven, CT, and Eagle Pass, TX. Type is pump or slide action shotgun. Construction is steel barrel, magazine tube, bolt, internal parts, and trigger, fitted in a light weight alloy frame. Stock and forend are graphite based synthetic. Barrel is 22 inch Accu-Choke, with .585 vicinity full tube. Accu Choke tubes are the same thread as Winchester Winchoke® or Browning old style standard Invector, and they are readily available throughout the world. Chambering is 20 gauge, 2 3/4 inch and 3 inch interchangeably. Sight system is a 9 post, .375 wide serrated top Ventilated Rib that sits 1/4 inch above the barrel at mid section. Front bead is traditional white polymer ivory colored, with smaller brass bead at the mid section of the rib. Magazine holds 5 each 2 3/4 inch shells, or 4 each 3 inch shells, so 5+1 capacity on 2 3/4 inch. Alloy receiver is drilled at four points for a number 88 or 417 Weaver base, or identically spaced Picatinny rail. Safety is classic Mossberg tang mounted, southpaw friendly on its own, but the 3/4 inch right hand cant of the buttstock conspires against left hand shooters. Length of pull is 12 inches from the smooth face of the matte blue .275 steel trigger to the end of the factory 7/8 inch recoil pad. Forend is positioned 2 inches shorter than normal for short armed shooters. Weight empty is 5 pounds 11 ounces, with center of gravity 1 inch forward of the receiver. Finish is blue and semi gloss alloy metal, with black synthetic stock and forend. These shotguns come to us from Mossberg’s distribution system. They served light duty, likely with a sales rep or writer. Each has the letter U stamped near its serial number. Surface detractions are minimal, only faint amounts of handling wear or sticker stain, really no more than one commonly sees on many brand new guns on display in stores across the country. We rate these Mossbergs as Excellent, 90 to 95 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. If any of these were ever fired, it was fewer than 25 times.
