Description: M1871 US Springfield .50-70 rolling block rifle. Rack numbered 31 on left side of frame. Metal parts have a light patina overall that is somewhat mottled on the frame, overall free of pitting. Stock shows light wear and use overall with excellent cartouche, free of cracks, with a couple minor chips in the cleaning rod channel and a few scattered moderate bruises. Back of block shows dings from careless hammering. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
