Description: Offering for your consideration; an antique muzzleloader, half stock, percussion lock, Target Rifle in .40 Cal, of the Ohio style. The 36 inch octagon barrel was re-rifled by barrel maker Bobby Hoyt of Fairfield, PA. and is finished brown. The half stock is maple w/ highly figured tiger stripe, a squared cheek piece, brass furniture, and a poured German silver nose cap. It appears the stock was refinished and the lock was replaced with a current L&R lock. There are several stock imperfections around the bolster and lock mortice from use and fitting the replacement lock. There are no stock cracks. This is an attractive period rifle with an excellent bore for the active round ball shooter at a reasonable price.
