Bluing shows typical age-related fading but is in great shape (not scratched up, etc.). Very minimal handling marks -- this pistol has been handled lovingly, and never abused! Note that what looks in a couple of photos like a crack above the thumb-swell on the left grip appears to be just a scratch in the plastic. We've looked at it closely for any movement or separation between pieces or indication of cracks continuing on either side of the scratch, and there is nothing. Shows very minor wear and usual wear of bluing at sharp edges. Frame and slide rails show light use. This firearms does not appear to have seen a lot of actual use. Lettering is still sharp and clear. It appears to have had some very minor pitting on the right side of the slide just below the Serial number, but has been professionally touched up. See photos. Serial 666xxx indicates 1957 as year of manufacture (36th "Blue Book", page 2447 says that 1956 ended with 652,405 and 1957 ended with 776,129).
