Made in 1957, serial number 8966SA is an early second generation revolver featuring a nickel finish, 7.5-inch barrel and plastic grips. CONDITION: Appears unfired since leaving the factory. The grips are stamped Colt and numbered to match the frame. The cylinder is marked "798". The bore is stunning, strong and bright with no evidence of wear. Nickel is well over 95 percent, with a few scattered imperfections and rubs, a turning ring and some light discoloration at the front of the cylinder (most likely from firing during proof. Grips are absent issue. Mechanics are proper, with four distinct notches, very tight cylinder and smooth trigger pull. BOX: The one-piece black box with correct end label (blank serial) is in good to very good condition. A warranty card, Handling the Handgun flyer, holster flyer and brown tissue are included.
